It has been a very positive first few months at St Anne’s as we began rehearsals with our new choir. The children have been learning sacred and secular repertoire as well as finding out about singing technique, playing games, and discovering different types of music in our Musician of the Month scheme.
I hope that some of you had the pleasure of joining us at our Nine Lessons & Carols service in December. If you did, you’ll have had the pleasure of hearing our brand new choristers singing for the first time together with the St Anne’s Singers. I am extremely proud of our young singers who put in a lot of work in November and December in preparation for the service.
To thank them for their efforts, the children were treated to a Christmas party in the choir vestry with party games, crackers and gifts, as well as some singing!
This term the choir will be building their skills through the Royal School of Church Music’s Voice for Life scheme, and we hope to continue recruitment in partnership with local schools and other churches.
All are welcome to join us at our Evening Service each Friday at 6pm where you can hear the Choristers sing.
If your child or another you know is hoping to join, or if you would like to find out more about what we do, please get in touch at stanneschoristers@gmail.com
We are very much looking forward to welcoming new singers and creating some beautiful music!
Best wishes,
Elin Heron
Director of St Anne’s Choristers
